We’re nearing the end of what has been a very full week thanks to the North American International Auto Show, and we feel that it’s time to collect.
“Collect what?” you might ask.
Collect recognitions, of course. The GT4 Stinger has been catching a lot of eyes this week, and while we can’t take any of the credit, we do want to show how proud we are of the engineers at Kia for crafting such a hot concept.
Starting off, Car and Driver posted its list of the 10 Coolest Design Details You Don’t Want to Miss. The GT4 Stinger made the list thanks to its radical A-pillars. A-pillars are the portion of your car that supports the roof between your windshield and your front windows, and usually they’re entirely overlooked for innovation due to their role in safety. Kia decided to step in and change things up by putting holes in the pillars. These holes not only increase front visibility to 270 degrees, they also subtract from the car’s overall weight.
Sticking with Car and Driver, the Stinger also made their list of the 12 Hottest Debuts of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. They put the GT4 in good company, and added one last plea that Kia actually put this one into production.
And finally, Motor Trend ranks the Stinger among their Best Concepts at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, remarking that if Kia is serious about the Stinger, it could take the auto maker to all new heights.
We can only imagine how high they’ll go, but we can’t wait to see.
